Morning: Go Tell the Story of Jesus
MIKE and ANNETTE RACEY have been working to start new churches with the Xtreme Patagonia Team in Punta Arenas, Chile. They have seen leaders of the new “Casa del Alfarero” (Potter’s House) Baptist Church surface and cause many lives to change. The isolated Patagonia people group is spiritually warming as God works through English classes, craft groups, Bible studies, and volunteer teams. Mike and Annette rejoice over a core of new believers who are growing in grace and knowledge of the Lord. God is blessings your gifts through the Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Add the Raceys and the Patagonia people group to your prayer list this week.
South America is the focus region for the 2008 Lottie Moon offering theme “GO TELL the story of Jesus.”
1 Corinthians 4:1-2 A person should consider us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of God’s mysteries. In this regard, it is expected of managers that each one be found faithful.
Evening: International Seafarer's Center
Some 2,500 miles away from the ocean, MARSHAL BUNDREN greets ships from all over the world carrying crew and cargo up the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Port of Indiana in Portage. As director of the International Seafarer’s Center, Marshal sees more than 300 ships come and go during the year. Marshal ministers aboard the ships as well as at the seafarer center. He appreciates our prayers and asks that we pray for many lives to be changed by the Gospel as a result of the International Seafarer’s Center ministry. Pray that the Gospel will spread as these crews return to their home countries.
STATEMENT: The Bible challenges Christians to be faithful stewards. In this Scripture, Paul uses the word stewardship in the context of sharing the Gospel. Faithful giving is one way we can help share the Gospel and express our stewardship.
